Immersive Croatia Tour Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Croatia and Discovering the Countryside
Welcome to Croatia! Upon arrival at Zagreb Airport (or another nearby airport hub), we head for the village of Breznički Hum, where we stay at the charming family-run farm in the picturesque Croatian countryside, some 45 km (28 mi) north of Zagreb. After settling into the serene surroundings and meeting with the hosts, we enjoy a delicious farm-to-table dinner featuring locally sourced ingredients. Overnight at the farm stay.

Day 2 – Hands-on Gardening and Historic Varaždin
After a hearty homemade breakfast, step into the world of small-scale gardening typical of the Zagorje region. Our Luka conducts this hands-on workshop, which is filled with sharing knowledge, practical skills, and new perspectives on sustainable home gardening. After the workshop, lunch is served in the open, enabling us to enjoy food, nature, and the view all at once.
Later in the afternoon, we visit nearby Varaždin, one of Croatia’s most enchanting historical towns. We stroll through its charming streets, mingle with artists, and explore its rich history before indulging in a locally inspired dinner. Well-fed and cheerful, we return to our hamlet for an overnight stay.

Day 3 – Get To Know Zagreb and Dinner Under the Skies
After breakfast, we head for Zagreb to experience Croatia’s vibrant capital! A thematic walking tour will immerse us in Zagreb’s old town center. Among other sights, we explore the Dolac Market, the most famous Zagreb farmers’ market. Trained in some essential marketplace and streetwise skills, we head for lunch in a local hometown-style diner. After that, we experience the fascinating urban landscape of Novi Zagreb, a part of Zagreb built during the Socialist era.
The evening is booked for a genuine local dinner experience under the skies of our Hum farm. Culinary enthusiasts are welcome to join in preparing the ingredients, starting a fire, and spicing up the whole experience!

Day 4 – Plitvice Lakes Experience
No trip to Croatia is complete without visiting Plitvice Lakes National Park, a UNESCO-listed wonderland of cascading waterfalls and turquoise lakes. Therefore, after breakfast, we take a 3-hour ride towards this pearl of the highland of Croatia.
In the Plitvice area, we first have a traditional lunch in a rural tavern and then walk through the breathtaking scenery of the Park. Golden hour waits for us right where we need it—at the most photogenic Plitvice viewpoint.
The journey continues in the Lika Region, where we have dinner and a sleepover at a nice hotel in the village of Ličko Lešće.

Day 5 – The Best of Highland and Adriatic Croatia
After breakfast, we step back in time at the historic Sinac Watermill. The place is at the source of the Gacka River, one of the last rivers in Europe, with water that is pure enough to drink along its entire course. We learn how local communities once relied on mills and river for daily life. Tasting homemade organic, full-grain bread and other local products such as honey and jams is included!
Later during the day, we reach the Adriatic and cross the bridge to Krk, Croatia’s second largest island. Lunch at the farm in the island’s countryside, where we also take part in an interesting cheese-making presentation. After that, we head for our Krk home, located in the old town of the same name.

Day 6 – The Day at the Sea
For most of the day, we spend time with Nikola, a local fisherman, soaking up the ways of true Mediterranean maritime life. Lunch is made from the ingredients caught or picked earlier that day and served at the beach or on the boat (Note: this experience is suitable for groups of a maximum of 10 people).
After dinner at the charming local tavern, the evening is yours to enjoy the atmosphere of the town of Krk

Day 7 – Culinary Delights of Istria
After breakfast and an easy-going morning, we travel to Istria, Croatia’s renowned food and wine region. We arrive in the picturesque hamlet of Lindar just in time for a traditional pastry-making class at the Ograde Farm. We will enjoy lunch in the shade of the old Ograde front yard.
After a break at our Istrian property, we head for an evening to remember. The Italian community of Brtonigla-Verteneglio will show us how authentic Mediterranean culture transcends national and ethnic borders!

Day 8 – A Stunning Archipelago of Brijuni
We start with morning free time, followed by a catered brunch. After that, the day’s highlight follows – a visit to Brijuni National Park. A couple of islets scattered just across the coast of Istria present fascinating historical traces. In just a few hours, we walk the timeline from the Jurassic era, over Antiquity, to the times of the 20th-century celebrities and the Yugoslav leader Tito. Brijuni offers some secluded beaches where we can take a refreshing swim.
After a field trip, we return to the mansion to taste some proper Croatian barbeque.

Day 9 – Exploring Istrian Wines and More
The last day of our Croatian adventure takes us to Momjan, a hidden gem of Istria, famous for its boutique wineries. We enjoy a wine-tasting experience, learning about Malvasia and Teran wines directly from passionate vintners.
On our way back, we visit Grožnjan, maybe the most charming of the Istrian sleepy hilltop historical towns. Depending on your wishes, the day ends with a farewell dinner at the mansion, at one of the local olive groves, or by visiting the famous Roman arena in Pula-Pola.

Day 10 – Departure
Your departure can be organized from one of the nearby airport hubs, including Venice or even Dubrovnik (if you want to spend a couple of days there before flying home).
